{"id":1000,"date":"2019-01-26T15:35:21","date_gmt":"2019-01-26T23:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bcsnowboard.com\/?page_id=1000"},"modified":"2022-11-08T14:13:46","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T22:13:46","slug":"1000-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bcsnowboard.com\/fr\/1000-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Long Term Athlete Development Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"qtranxs-available-languages-message qtranxs-available-languages-message-fr\">D\u00e9sol\u00e9, cet article est seulement disponible en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcsnowboard.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/1000\" class=\"qtranxs-available-language-link qtranxs-available-language-link-en\" title=\"English\">English<\/a>.<\/p><p><\/p>\n<h2>LONG TERM ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT (LTAD)<\/h2>\n<p>The concept of \u00ab\u00a0Park to Podium\u00a0\u00bb is at the core of Canada Snowboard&rsquo;s<strong>\u00a0Long Term Athlete Development<\/strong>\u00a0(LTAD).<\/p>\n<p>By progressing through each of the LTAD&rsquo;s eight stages, athletes will be able to learn the sport of snowboarding, acquire the skills needed to excel as a competitor, and make the transition to roles within the sport following their competitive years.<\/p>\n<p>These eight integrated stages are designed to help snowboarders reach the podium and are based on the participant\u2019s developmental (both physiological and mental) age, rather than chronological age.<\/p>\n<p>We invite you to explore each of these stages in greater detail:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.canadasnowboard.ca\/images\/events\/LTAD%20Photos\/Stage%201.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Stage 1 &#8211; ACTIVE START (Ages 0 to 6)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Physiological development<\/em>: initiation of basic human movement skills: running, jumping, kicking, throwing, catching, swimming, sliding, etc.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.canadasnowboard.ca\/images\/events\/LTAD%20Photos\/Stage%202.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Stage 2 &#8211; FUNDAMENTALS (Ages 6 to 9)<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Physical literacy:\u00a0<\/em>interrelation of movement skills and sport skills. Speed, power, and endurance are developed using sports and games.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadasnowboard.ca\/en\/about\/snowboarding\/ltad\/stage3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.canadasnowboard.ca\/images\/events\/LTAD%20Photos\/Stage%203.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadasnowboard.ca\/en\/about\/snowboarding\/ltad\/stage3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Stage 3 &#8211; LEARN TO TRAIN (Ages 8 to 12)<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Snowboard literacy:\u00a0<\/em>introduces snowboarders to all disciplines. This will allow the child to identify what they like while creating a great multi-skill foundation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadasnowboard.ca\/en\/about\/snowboarding\/ltad\/stage4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.canadasnowboard.ca\/images\/events\/LTAD%20Photos\/Stage%204.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadasnowboard.ca\/en\/about\/snowboarding\/ltad\/stage4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Stage 4 &#8211; TRAIN TO TRAIN (Ages 12+)<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Training literacy:\u00a0<\/em>Specialization and emphasis on strength and conditioning.
