BC Snowboard names 2019 Canada Winter Games Team

BC Snowboard Association is pleased to announce the athletes who will be representing BC at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer Alberta this February. Athletes have undergone a selection process, training opportunities and benefits related to Team BC. The final team is as follows:

Our Team will be led by Meghan Hebert as Head Coach, Sam Weston as Assistant Coach, Chelsea Williams as Team Leader and Matthew Tunnicliffe as Wax Tech.
Canada Winter Games is a celebration of youth, sport, culture and community, and is a multi-sport event held every 4 years in Canada. For many sports these Games are an integral step for athletes to reach International competition.
Meghan Hebert, Head Coach for the Snowboard Team at the Games comments “With being part of the 2019 games, I can say with confidence that this is an amazing opportunity to prepare these young athletes for future large-scale events and a long career in sport. Our team has been working hard to prepare for the games and I am looking forward to working with the team as Head Coach.”
“Canada Winter Games is a great event for younger riders to showcase what he or she can do in a different environment from any other they have competed in before” Sam Weston, Assistant BC Team Coach adds “The riders will face different challenges along the way. And aside from competing, they will meet new people, make new friends and of all will have a lot of fun with the Games experience”.
Any person wishing to appeal the BC Team Selection for the 2019 Canada Winter Games must do so in accordance with the BC Snowboard Appeals policy (https://bcsnowboard.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/BC-Snowboard.Appeal-Policy.pdf) The deadline for appeals is February 4, 2019.
